Most of my professional work over the past twenty (20) years or so... has focused on business and market development activities for new science and technology projects and programs. As a freelance consultant, I have developed a particular affinity for bringing diverse business interests and professional cultures together to facilitate public/private sector exchange and collaboration.
Central to this on-going function is organizing, managing, communicating and producing business value for multiple stakeholders involved in complex projects. Correspondingly, I have worked with and for multinational corporations, startup companies, universities, government agencies, national labs, private R&D organizations and public/private sector development organizations. My experience with diverse domain interests spans Particle Physics, Atmospheric Science and Meteorology, Healthcare and Medical Systems, Oil and Gas Exploration and Production, Carbon Management and Climate Change professional communities.
Since 2004, almost all of my professional attention has been directed toward emerging North American energy integration challenges and carbon management themes. My close professional association with Western Canada's 'Energy Futures Network Ltd.' consulting organization has allowed me to serve as a liaison in connecting…clean coal, electric power, midstream and transmission, oil and gas and other commercial interests who are, or will soon be, part of a commercial CO2 Value Chain and emerging geologic storage business.
Most of my consulting engagements have been collaborative undertakings with industry, government and academia…and aimed at laying the groundwork for a sustainable North American market for 'Carbon Capture and Storage' (CCS) and carbon management systems. Much of this work involves connecting dots, leveraging opportunities between commercial interests [as part of an increasingly interdependent North American Energy Economy], and building support from governments on both sides of the 49th Parallel... US/Canada border.
